Kruseman & Biggie team up to Win
Saturday Nights VRA Feature |

Saturday
night April 3 was a special night at
Ventura Raceway as VRA Sprints, USAC
Midgets, Focus Midgets, Young Gun
Midgets, VRA Pro Dwarf Cars and our kids
classes put on a night of exciting
racing action that thrilled the fans in
attendance.
VRA Sprints headed the night with 35
cars in attendance. There were four heat
races that saw wins go to Kevin Kierce,
Troy Rutherford, Cory Kruseman and Rick
Hendrix. The Semi Main went to Brandon
Thomson who blew his motor as he crossed
the finish line putting him out for the
rest of the night. Transferring to the
main event from the semi were Luis
Espinoiza, Bruce Douglass, Nic Faas and
John Nock. The 30 lap main event saw
Cory Kruseman on the pole in his number
69 sprinter. He jumped out front and was
never headed as he led all 30 laps to
take the win over Rick Hendrix, Troy
Rutherford, Brian Camarillo and Greg
Taylor.
USAC Midgets had a very good car count
of 25 midgets on hand. There were theee
heat races with wins going to Cory
Kruseman, Nick Mitchell and Robby Josett.
The 12 lap semi main was won by Randi
Pankratz. The 30 lap main event saw
Johnathon Henry take the win from his
outside front row starting position.
Following him across the line were
Mitchell, Josh Laktos, Kruseman and
Jossett.
In USAC Focus racing the field of 10
cars ran two heat races with wins going
to Nick Carlson and Jet Davison. The 20
lap main saw Andrew Mulhearn take the
win over Carlson, Kyle Edwards, Wally
Pankratz and Andrew Murray.
USAC Young Guns, formerly called Junior
Focus , also races Saturday night. Casey
Martinez took the heat race victory. The
20 lap feature went to Alex Jacobsen
followed by Daniel Williams, Casey
Martinez, Jared Blondell and Collin
Henry.
In VRA Pro Dwarf car action, Angel
Figueroa took his third main event win
of the season as he dominated the
action. Lars Wolfe, Eric Alton, Chris
Neal and Brent Stevens followed him
across the line. There were three heat
races run with wins going to Kevin Calvo,
Ray Estrada and Mike Lewis. The 27 car
count necessitated a semi main event to
be run and it went to Brent Stevens.
Our kid’s classes also were on hand
Saturday. In Mini Dwarf Pistons, the
heat race and main event wins went to
Ryann Butcher who took her first ever
win. In Superchargers, the heat race
wins went to Ricky Lewis and Cameron
McCauley. The feature win went to Nick
Velasquez. In Junior Midgets the heat
race win went to Austin Figueroa. The 15
lap feature win went to Cody Majors.
Ventura Raceway will take next weekend,
April 10 off. We hope top see you when
we return to action on April 17. |
