Raceway's 2012 Flat Track Motorcycle
season concluded its 2012 run Saturday
November 3, with a full program of
exciting flat track, road course and
motocross racing. With 133 riders signed
into the pits the fans in attendance
were in for some outstanding flat track
racing. Eighteen (18) classes ranging
from kids 5 and up on bikes, to vintage
and modern flat track and oval races for
bikes and quads, all the way to open
professional racers going for a first
place prize of $1,200. Racing was fast
and furious from the first to last
event.
Racing in the kids bike divisions saw
Jack Carrige take the kids 65 cc and
under win. In the kids 110cc and under
class the win went to Logan Otten.
In the adult classes for amateur riders
wins went to Patrick O’Conner took the
Pit Bike road course race win. In 500cc
Vintage racing the win went to Brandon
Walters over Larry Earhart. 750cc
vintage racing saw Brad Baker win over
Robert Bush. The Iron and Resin Hooligan
Derby class was won by Joe Pape over
Bill Kee . 250cc Motorcross Flat Track
went to James Davis over Louie Zuvic.
The 450cc Motocross Flat Track win went
to Trent Morley over Mario Zuvic. For
the 45 and older racers a Vet Class was
run with the win going to John Lundgren
over Sean Lambert. 250cc Motocross bikes
ran the infield jump track with the win
going to Jake Anderson over James Davis.
450 Motocross racing saw the win go to
Jason Colvin over Michael Kay. Amateur
Modern Open racing went to Driver Hill
over Aaron Colton.
In Quad racing the Quad Moto 16 and over
Open went to Cody Roberts over Stephen
Sandoval. The Flat Track Quad win went
to Mike Zarda over Andrew Rogers. David
Knight clinched the first VRA Flat Track
Series Championship Saturday. In the
Sportsman Division the win went to Troy
Slayton over John C. Nickel. The Road
Course Quad Class race was held with the
win going to Rodger Marks over Cody
Roberts.
Nineteen professional riders took the
green flag in their 20 lap main event
going for the winner’s check of $1,200.
Brad Baker took the 20 lap feature for
his first Ventura Raceway win, over
Jethro Halbert, Kayl Kolkman, Jon Nunes,
Rodney Spencer, Austin Scaggs, Robert
Bush, Michael Inderbitzen, Dylan Morin
and A J Herrera. These racers thrilled
the crowd with close hard fought racing
from the first lap until the finish on
lap 20. Jethro Halbert and Brad Baker
each took an eight lap heat win
sponsored by Motion Pro, The Racers Edge
MX and Barnett Clutches. Brad Baker took
the 4 lap dash for cash over Jethro
Halbert, Kayl Kolkman, Rodney Spencer, A
J Herrera and Austin Scaggs.
